Signs and Symptoms

Endometrial Cancer

• Abnormal vaginal bleeding (90%)
  • Post-menopausal bleeding more than one year after last period
  • Premenopausal bleeding
    • Irregular menses, prolonged menses, intermenstrual bleeding, excessive menstrual bleeding
• Abnormal Pap smear
• Advanced disease
  • Ascites
  • Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes due to biliary obstruction)
  • Bowel obstruction from abdominal metastases
  • Respiratory distress from lung metastases

Placental Cancer

• Vaginal spotting, bleeding
• Abnormal discharge, e.g., passage of villi (cystic grape-like clusters)
• Lower abdominal pain
• Nausea and/or vomiting
• Abnormal nipple discharge
• Swelling of the lower abdomen due to enlarged uterus
• Uterus that does not decrease in size after pregnancy
• Absent fetal heart tones
