Education
  • B.S. in Mathematics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1991)
  • B.S. in Physics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1991)
  • M.S. in Astronomy, State University of New York, Stony Brook (1996)
  • Ph.D. in Astronomy, University of Hawaii (2003)

Research Interests
  • Studying the physical nature of Centaurs and other outer solar system small bodies to determine their histories and importance in the evolution of the solar system
  • Modeling the surface characteristics and compositions of small bodies as revealed in their spectra
  • Collection and interpretation of simultaneous or near-simultaneous spectral and photometric data from ground-based observatories to enhance spacecraft observations

Projects

Cassini-Huygens Icon Cassini-Huygens
The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft is currently exploring the ringed planet, its mysterious moons, the stunning rings and its complex magnetic environment.

Spitzer Icon Spitzer
The Spitzer Space Telescope (formerly SIRTF, the Space Infrared Telescope Facility) was launched into space by a Delta rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida on 25 August 2003.
