Current position: Deputy Team Lead for Material Protection, Control, and Accounting Program's Transportation Security Project

This project includes developing transportation security systems for use in the Russian Federation, and the security team consists of members from Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Pacific Northwest Laboratory.

• Deputy Team Lead for a large, multi-disciplinary, international program to protect special nuclear materials from theft and diversion during transportation within Russia. Project involves industrial engineering issues involving transportation risk and vulnerability, technology assessments, performance metrics, process modeling and operations, and system design.

Chemical Development Technologist

• Prepared sorbents, catalysts, and ceramic materials using the internal gelation process
• Participated in numerous facility decontamination campaigns addressing safety and compliance issues; initiated corrective actions and corrected non-conformances; prepared procedures; and served as trainer in various functions
• Participated in a work-for-others program with local Industries
• Directed plant and equipment support work during equipment fabrication
• Guided cooperative education students in new assignments
• Obtained funding through collaborations at the laboratory and surrounding universities
• Gained experience with engineering process monitoring systems and programmable instrument control
• Worked as part of a research team to develop and evaluate several separation technology processes from batch to pilot scale under the Department of Energy ESP and EMSP funding programs
