		Abstract:
			This ArcView shapefile contains a polygon
			representation of generalized geology in the Green River
			Basin. This geology shapefile was produced as part of the
			National Coal Resource Assessment of the Northern
			Rocky Mountain and Great Plains Fort Union Coal
			Resources Assessment Area. This geology can be shown
			in relation to other relevant themes in the green River
			Basin.
		Purpose:
			The Nation's coal resources are being assessed by the
			USGS. This assessment identifies and characterizes the
			coal beds and coal zones that will provide the bulk of the
			Nation's coal-derived energy during the next few decades.
			This assessment is different from previous USGS
			assessments because digital files and databases are being
			collected and stored in standardized formats,and being
			analyzed using a Geographic Information System (GIS).

		Process_Step:
			Process_Description:
				The two digital source maps were downloaded and
				imported into ARC/INFO. The maps were  clipped with the
				Green River Basin Boundary and joined to make one
				ARC/INFO coverage. The coverage was edited and
				brought into ArcView where it was attributed and
				the geology was generalized. It was then projected into
				geographic coordinates and converted into a shapefile.
