If there is one thing I hate more than telemarketing calls, it is prerecorded telemarketing calls. Prerecorded are incredibly impersonal, allow the company to make an arbitrary number of calls since they no longer have to devote personnel to doing so, and provide a convenient loophole to get around customers that would request to be removed from the company's call list since there is not an actual person available to take said request. The minor consumer benefit afforded by allowing such calls is easily cancelled out by the huge disservice it will be to everybody else.
