WHO: Representatives from 30 nations: Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, European Union, Finland, France, Germany Hungary, Hong Kong, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States.
WHAT: The three-day conference will permit senior export control officials from most of the nations of Europe and North America, as well as Japan and Hong Kong, plus representatives of four multilateral export control regimes and the European Union, to examine the challenges the global export control system faces in effectively contributing to the goal of nonproliferation and to exchange information on how best to meet those challenges.
WHEN: The Conference runs September 26 through 28. T. Scott Bunton, U.S. Department of Commerce Deputy Under Secretary for Export Administration and presiding officer for the Conference, will provide a daily media briefing at the conclusion of each session.* Other conference officials will be available during breaks in the sessions.

In April of 2002 the Bureau of Export Administration (BXA) changed its name to the Bureau of Industry and Security(BIS). For historical purposes we have not changed the references to BXA in the legacy documents found in the Archived Press and Public Information.
