Dear Dr. Henney:

Whereas the rise in antibiotic resistance is slowly eliminating
the effectiveness of many of these drugs for treating infectious
diseases in ordinary people,  I am therefore writing to urge you
to establish a  reporting system to determine the quantity of
antibiotics regularly used in U.S. agriculture.  I hope that incoming
FDA officials of the new Administration should make the creation
of a Federal Antibiotic Reporting System a top priority.
