Abstract: | Examines the relationship between the dual goals of equity and development for public higher education (HE) in post-apartheid South Africa. Without state intervention, globalization of the South African economy and HE provision may result in increased inequality in access to HE, information, and technology (and thus, productivity and income). Presents suggestions for reforming the public HE undergraduate curriculum. (SM) |
