IgD policlonal activation in patients with high risks of HIV-1 infection.

Cardinalli A, Rey J; International Conference on AIDS.

Int Conf AIDS. 1992 Jul 19-24; 8: 16 (abstract no. PuA 6030).

Praxis Medica Foundation, Argentina.

OBJECTIVES: To determine the seric levels of IgD in healthy adult patients and high risk HIV-1 seronegative patients. METHODS: Patients were divided in two groups; group A: healthy people (with normal clinic and laboratory parameters) and group B: high risk HIV-1 seronegative patients. Both groups are similar in number, age and sex. The IgD seric concentration was determined by radial immunodiffusion. The Student and the Scheefe test were used for the statistical analysis. RESULTS: TABULAR DATA, SEE ABSTRACT VOLUME. CONCLUSIONS: Statistically significant changes in IgD concentration was observed in high risk patients. The quantification of immunoglobulin could be a subrogate marker of HIV-1 infection.
