It seems that texture filtering or resampling doesnt affect alpha channels the same way as they affect the rgb components, producing visble artifacts at the edges of the visible parts - where the alpha mask goes from white to black.

This issue may be related to the shimmering effect WWJ produces when textures are downsampled in the distance.
