  • Above and belowground biomass partitioning and carbon allocation
  • Nutrient cycling along environmental gradients
  • Differences in rooting structure and functions among taxa
  • Constructed wetlands to improve water quality and habitat
  • Management of forested ecosystems to optimize environmental quality, including maximizing carbon sequestration, biogeochemical processing, water quantity and quality, and sustainable productivity
  • Regeneration and restoration of wetland and maritime ecosystems
  • Non-timber forest resources and the management of these resources to improve cultural, social and economic well-being of underserved communities.
