Health Effects

DANGER: POISON. CORROSIVE. HARMFUL OR FATAL IF SWALLOWED OR INHALED. CAUSES EYE AND SKIN BURNS. Contains ammonium bifluoride. Can cause burns which may not be immediately painful or visible. DO NOT ingest or inhale. Fluoride poisoning can occur with ingestion or inhalation. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Mist harmful, use with adequate ventilation. |

Eye Contact: Avoid eye contact. This product may be corrosive on direct contact. This product has not been tested for acute eye hazards.
Skin Contact: Avoid skin contact. This product may be corrosive on direct contact. This product has not been tested for acute dermal effects.
Inhalation: Avoid inhalation of mists or vapors. Exposure to mist/vapors may be irritating to respiratory tract. Severe intoxication may lead to drowsiness, dullness, numbness, and headache followed by dizziness, weakness, and nausea. Inhalation of high vapor concentrations may cause heart irregularities, including irregular pulse, palpitation and inadequate circulation. Inhalation may
result in aspiration. Aspiration may lead to chemical pneumonitis which is characterized by pulmonary edema and hemorrhage and may be fatal.
Ingestion: Poison. Harmful or fatal if swallowed. Do not ingest. Ingestion can result in fluoride poisoning. Systemic signs include hypocalcaemia and ventricular fibrillation. Ingestion may cause gastrointestinal distress. Ingestion may result in lung aspiration. Aspiration may lead to chemical pneumonitis which is characterized by pulmonary edema and hemorrhage and may be fatal. Severe oral intoxication will lead to intense burning of the throat and may result in drowsiness, dullness, numbness, and headache followed by dizziness, weakness, and nausea. Loss of consciousness and convulsions followed by death may result.
Medical Conditions Aggravated by Exposure: None expected.
Other: Ingestion between one teaspoon and one ounce may be fatal.

Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with large amounts of water and continue flushing for 15 minutes or until irritation subsides. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated area thoroughly with soap and water. If redness or irritation occurs and persists, seek medical attention.
Inhalation: If victim exhibits signs of vapor intoxication remove to fresh air. If breathing has stopped or is irregular, administer artificial respiration and supply oxygen if it is available. Seek immediate medical attention.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Administer a neutralizer such as milk of magnesia. Immediate medical treatment is extremely important.
Notes to Physician: Perform gastric lavage with lime water or one percent of calcium chloride solution. Support respiration.
Other: Fluoride binding substances such as milk, chewable carbonate tablets, or Milk of Magnesia may be given for prevention of absorption.
