Genetically engineered organisms are no joke however ! No one yet knows what threat they pose to this closed natural system in which we live. The people promoting this have already opened Pandora's box. I really wonder if the damned fools realize what they've done. As far as these rules go, since they Do not require mandatory pre-market safety testing Do not require pre-market environmental review Do not require mandatory labeling of GE foods Restrict voluntary labeling of non-GE foods Require a mere letter of notification prior to the marketing of a GE food and fail to ensure public access to adequate information for independent review ,they are totally inadequate. In fact they are worse than worthless since genetically modified food shouldn't even exist. Therefore I urge you to reject these rules in their entirety. Respectfully Joe Dermody jdermody@iquest.net
