For any number of reasons they are a joke & need changing. The very fact that right on the ballot the directors are allowed to express their desire for you to vote this way or that way shows that the elections are nearly fixed. In local school board elections you cannot campaign within 100' of the polls & so you should not be able to campaign right on the ballot. There should actually be people running against each other. Oh, while you are at it, do away with the electoral college so we can have the guy with the most votes win.
