The members and alternates will serve two-year terms ending Feb. 14, 1998. Lon Hatamiya, administrator of USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service, said the Committee makes recommendations to the secretary of agriculture on the equitable assignment of tobacco inspectors to all designated markets for flue-cured tobacco. The Flue-Cured Tobacco Advisory Committee, established in 1974, is authorized under the Federal Advisory Committee Act. The committee reports to the director of AMS's Tobacco Division. Committee members represent flue-cured tobacco producers, buyers and warehousemen.
