Feb 6, 2009 - Sprint-Cogent Internet Connections Dispute Resolved

The dispute between Sprint and Cogent over Internet peering connections has been resolved. On December 22, 2008, Sprint and Cogent entered into a long term agreement. A joint press release by Sprint and Cogent states:

"Sprint and Cogent announce that they have reached a multi-year interconnection agreement for the purposes of exchanging Internet traffic. This agreement will benefit the customers of both Sprint and Cogent and resolves the earlier dispute to the satisfaction of both parties. The agreement is in accordance with both parties’ previous and long standing interconnection policies and agreements. The specifics of this agreement are confidential."

Between October 30 and November 2, 2008, the courts and our customers, together with the general public, experienced a brief disruption in messaging and other services that are dependent on the exchange of Internet traffic between the two Internet Service Providers (ISPs). This ISP agreement ensures that we will not experience these problems in the future.
