Bransfield Strait ocean bottom seismometer (OBS) data
Entry ID: BS_OBS

[ View Brief Record ] [ Update this Record ]
Summary
This was an OBS program in the Bransfield Strait, Antarctica carried out on two
cruises of the Nathaniel B. Palmer. The main objective was to examine crustal
thinning associated with the active extension in the Bransfield Strait
following up on a 1991 MCS seismic program (EW9101).

The data set consists of dip profiles 1/7, 3, and 5 (7 was a reshoot of 1) and
strike profiles 2, 4, 6, 9, and 10. Each profile is 150-200 km long, and was
recorded by 10-11 ocean bottom seismometers (OBSs) at a spacing of 15-20 km.

The data is in SEG-Y format, with all navigational information in the headers.
