VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY FOR DOC EMPLOYEES
Small teams of Boulder Labs
employees deliver nutritious meals to our Boulder neighbors for Meals on
Wheels; the drivers report that this volunteer activity is both fun and
fulfilling. We have a NIST/NTIA Team that delivers to
about 8-10 stops on a nearby route on Tuesday, and a NOAA Team that takes that
route on Wednesday. Each individual driver usually delivers only one time each
month, and team members fill in for each other whenever someone has a conflict
on their day. If you are interested in joining our Meals on Wheels delivery
teams, please contact Carol Knight, ext. 6401, or carol.knight@noaa.gov. We
will train you and support you!
EMPLOYEE HEALTH UNIT AND BOULDER LABS DIVERSITY
COUNCIL BROWN BAG SEMINAR, January 21
The speaker for this month’s
Brown Bag Seminar is Dee Neitzel, personal trainer,
extraordinaire. Dee believes in keeping
fit and healthy, but doesn't believe getting and staying fit has to be all time
consuming. She took her training from a
NASA MD (that trained astronauts how to exercise in space). She's fun, light
hearted and a wealth of information.
Please join us for this informative seminar on January 21 at 12 p.m.,
DSRC GB124.
WES HENDERSON RETIREMENT
Too quickly the time has
passed us by,
now it’s time for us to say good-bye.
Please join us to wish Wes the very best,
as he starts his long deserved rest.
After 29 years of Federal
Service, Wes Henderson of DOC’s Mountain Region Security Office will
retire. Please join us in for refreshments in honor of Wes on Tuesday,
January 27, 1-3 p.m., in 1-1107.
If you would like to sign a
card or contribute to a gift please see:

FREE TUTORIAL:
USING MATLAB FOR DATA ACQUISITION, INSTRUMENT CONTROL, AND DATA ANALYSIS
MATLAB
& Simulink Technology Seminar
Learn how you can use MATLAB to acquire and analyze data, control measurement
hardware, and build stand-alone applications.
Through demonstrations, a MathWorks engineer
will show how performing these tasks in one software tool can save you time and
reduce costs.
• Acquire, analyze, and visualize live data in MATLAB
• Use MATLAB with data
acquisition boards, oscilloscopes, RS-232 devices, signal analyzers, and other
equipment
• Make customized or
application-specific measurements
• Automatically
generate reports and documentation in MATLAB to share results
The seminar will be held on
Wednesday, January 28, 2009, 2-4 p.m., 1-4020.
The cost is free, but space is limited, email your registration request
to Byron.Geannopoulos@mathworks.com or
Rosemary.Oconnor@boulder.nist.gov.
