Complete Description:  This project is producing a General Technical Report in the Wildland Fire in Ecosystems ("Rainbow") Series to synthesize science-based information on relationships between fire and nonnative invasive plant species. The report has 3 sections: 1. fundamental concepts governing relationships between fire and nonnative invasive species (effects of fire on invasives, invasives’ effects on fire regimes, fire use to control invasives) 2. regional analyses of fire-invasive issues 3. general management applications, including effects of fire suppression and fuel management, monitoring, and integration with other management programs When completed, this report will be distributed systematically to wildland managers and people who offer training to managers. A CD-ROM will be produced containing all 6 Rainbow Series reports, plus a PowerPoint introduction and worksheet, and delivered to those who teach managers about fire and invasive plants.
