General Comment

As a representative of an 11 million dollar business with over 9,000 member
owners who believe in supporting the health of our food shed and food systems, I
must register great displeasure over the continuance of this method of handling
many of the problems inherent in the current state of our food system.
Irradiation masks shoddy practices, while changing the taste, and properties of
the food. It is not the answer. Re-localization and sustainable respectful
farming practices - and the legislation, funding, and policy that goes along
with supporting these efforts, will go much further toward creating true food
security.
thank you for your attention,
