CA,
I am very concerned that the extension of independent diagnostic testing will be
extended to an ophthalmologic office. These tests are usually specific for eye
examinations and physicians outside the ophthalmologic field could not
determine the results. The convenience of getting all testing done at one location
and at one time are very important for our patients. Extra expense and time if the
independent diagnostic testing is extended to opthalmologists offices is not
warranted. There is no improvement in safety to our patients or improvement in the
quality of care this type of decision would bring.
