Description/Abstract The Centralized Reliability Data Organization (CREDO) is a data base for reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) analyses for component groups from liquid-metal reactors and test facilities.^It has been operational since the late 1970s at Oak Ridge National Laboratory under the JOSHUA data manager system (a hierarchical structure data manager) and three generations of IBM mainframes.^Due to a software dependency of the JOSHUA precompiler and an ongoing data exchange program with the Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation of Japan, it became necessary to choose a new data-base management system (DBMS) to support the CREDO data.^This paper describes the DBMS conversion process and compares the functionality of the old CREDO data-base management system (JOSHUA) with that of the new one.
