[APD] APD meeting minutes

APD meeting 6/29/2004:

We discussed the APD testing roadmap for both KOPIO and Water Cherenkov.
The following is the list of tasks:

1- Redo the continuous gain measurement of the immersible that had its
signal reduced during stability tests. This had now been done and there
was no change in the continuous light gain. We now suspect another
component in the testing system may have failed.

2- Mount 14 mm APD and do
  i-Gain measurements with pulsed and continuous light
  ii-Stability tests without preamp
  iii-Stability tests at 0 deg C
  iii-PMT/PIN diode comparisons with multiple wavelength LEDs
  NB: If light splitter system availble all stability tests should be
      done simultaneously with PMT/PIN.


3- Connect APD to preamp+shaper (Cremat or Gregor) and redo
   i-Gain measurement with pulsed light
   ii-Stability tests at room temp
   iii-Stability tests at 0 deg C
   iii-PMT/PIN diode comparisons

4- i) For KOPIO mount bare APD with amplification on scintillating tile
   ii) For water Cherenkov - retest water tank cosmic ray performance with
       PMT then hook up APD+amplification

Other issues

5) Redo series resistance measurement (Mark and Mike)
6) Acquire splitter cube and mount cage (Milind)
