Fermilab Summer Students - 2008

2008 Students

Each summer Fermilab offers several ten-week intern programs for undergraduates. Students have an opportunity to work on projects that support particle physics experiments in areas such as engineering, applied physics and computing. In addition, Fermilab offers opportunities for environmental studies, particularly in the hundreds of acres of restored tallgrass prairie. Students work with Fermilab scientists or engineers and have an opportunity to experience current research methods and study problems of high-energy physics research or ecology.

Students are selected for their outstanding scholarship and their interest in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Internships for Physics Majors, IPM, is a lab-sponsored program. Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships, SULI, and Preservice Teacher Program, PST, are national programs supported by the Office of Science: Office of Workshop Development for Teachers and Scientists.
