Summary: All main sensitivities fit in region 40-50N,15-50W. Within this area, Meteo-France and ECMWF TE SVs (dry and moist) mainly 15-30W (in front of surface L) with secondary max around 45W for ECMWF. ECMWF Hessian SVs max further W (30-50W) and N of 45N, behind the surface L. Met Office ETKF centred on 30W, around surface L (NB spread in EPS on position and intensity of this feature. Selected target area: general area 40-50N,15-50W Request for obs: 48-hour warning for ASAP ships, AMDAR, rapid-scan winds in above area DLR Falcon cannot reach target area from Rekjevik. So there will be no request to the Falcon; also none expected until at least Saturday. Mel will hear about transit plans for G4 later today. If transit is on 13th, then possible to fly mission on 15/16th.
