Description:Dedicated to the preservation, conservation and study of the native plants and vegetation of Illinois. The Society was organized as the Southern Illinois Native Plant Society in 1981. In 1986 it became today’s statewide organization. The Society currently consists of approximately 538 members. The Society publishes the quarterly newsletter, The Harbinger and the annual scientific journal, Erigenia.
