“The Republican plan to increase student loan fees and interests rates will make higher education more expensive and less accessible to students.  Every college student in America, and every young person who ever hopes to go to college, needs to know that the Republicans are cutting $12 billion in student aid to help pay for the Iraq War and tax cuts for millionaires, while adding at least $5,800 to the cost of college.  This is an incomprehensibly stupid proposal that hurts college students and hurts America’s future,” said McCollum.
