Subject: Misuse of Antibiotics

I have recently read that the great majority of antibiotics used in the
USA go to healthy animals such as pigs, cows and poultry merely to
increase their growth.  This is a tragic misuse of these drugs and quite
obviously will reduce their effectiveness for treating infections in
humans.  I believe the first step in curbing this rampant misuse of
antibiotics should be to collect  data on agricultural usage of these
drugs in the United States.  I would like to hear from you about this
thought...jesse steinman
