## wlb.013 ALS Software Note Bill Brown ## 01/03/96 Huerikon Nitro60 to Motorola mvme167 roll-back proceedure ## for crioc processors. This morning we replaced crioc02 and '04 with Heurikon "Nitro-60" cpu boards. A description of the proceedure to be used if it becomes necessary to roll back to the original configuration follows. Remove the NITRO 60 board from the vme bin. 6) Insert the BLANK card into the slot vacated in step 5). 7) Go to the rear of the rack cabinet. There are also two sets of ribbon cables (which consist of a narrow ribbon cable which terminates in an Ethernet connector and a wide ribbon cable which is unused) that are connected to the VME P-2 Connectors of the slots which were occupied by the NITRO-60 boards.. 9) Remove the Ethernet interface from the ribbon cable and plug it into the mvme712 transition panel which coresponds to the cpu which was replaced. 10) Do the same for the RS-232 cable for the applicable cpu. Be sure to connect the cable to the connector which is marked "Console." 11) Go to the front of the rack cabinet and turn on the VME power. The processors will take from 3 to 5 minutes to boot. When they are running normally, all of the mv167 boards should be flashing their front panel indicators in similar patterns.
