CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION Date Last Rev'd: March 9, 1995 NIOSH Publications - December, 1994 The following list contains free publications available from NIOSH. This list of publications is updated monthly and is subject to change due to the finite supply of any given document. Write or FAX your requests to: NIOSH Publications Mail Stop C-13 4676 Columbia Parkway Cincinnati, Ohio 45226-1998 FAX - (513) 533-8573 Criteria Documents (CD) are developed to provide the basis for comprehensive occupational safety and health standards. These documents generally contain a critical review of the scientific and technical information available on the prevalence of hazards, the existence of safety and health risks, and the adequacy of control methods. Recommendations for minimizing safety and health risks, include medical monitoring, exposure assessment, worker training, control technology, personal protective equipment, and record keeping, as well as RELs where appropriate. Current Intelligence Bulletins (CIB) review and evaluate new and emerging information about occupational hazards. They may draw attention to a previously unrecognized hazard, report new data on a known hazard, or disseminate information about hazard control. Several Current Intelligence Bulletins Reprints can be ordered as a one document. CIB-1 through CIB-18 are combined in publication number 78-127; CIB- 19 through CIB-30 are combined in publication number 79-146; CIB-31 through CIB-47 are combined in publication number 86-122. NIOSH Alerts (NA) briefly present new information about occupational illnesses, injuries, and deaths. Alerts urgently request assistance in preventing, solving, and controlling newly identified occupational hazards. Workers, employers, and safety and health professionals are asked to take immediate action to reduce risks and implement controls. Miscellaneous Publications (MP) are documentation not assigned a publication number. When ordering a miscellaneous publication or a bibliography, be sure to include the full title for positive identification. Those publications followed by a (s) indicates that they are available in Spanish.
