I don't think that research is out there for that specific program. The authors are rather notoriously zealous in believing it will work for anybody, but it's still a fairly small-scale product :-).
You might find research supporting the effectiveness of "Elkonin boxes" which are, essentially, the backbone of Phono-Graphix and a nifty multisensory way of developing sound/symbol association.

It wasn't designed for adults; it was designed better than many programs to efficiently teach the sound/symbol associations, but there are other programs that have had a more thorough development & revision process that I'd go for first.... though for many of them I'd probably toss in Elkonin boxes, a.k.a. letterbox lessons, per The REading Genie's site (http://www.auburn.edu/~murraba ) '

It also only addresses decoding.. and IMO falls short at the higher levels, where it relies on that "Reading Reflex" (the title of the parents' version of the program) to kick in... which it does for some students but not all, and not at all for significant numbers of students with LDs.

Does anyone on this list have experience using the Phono Graphix program with adults? I'm attempting to find research studies that support its use and can only find studies with younger persons and those that give pre and post scores on the PG tests and sometimes with Woodcock subtests. There seem to be no studies using a control group. Any insights out there to share? barb given
