Washington, DC – Congressman Randy Neugebauer delivered a special gift to one of the 19th District’s most famous constituents—President George W. Bush.

Neugebauer met with President Bush in the oval office Monday where he hand-delivered a set of coins designed by the cadets of Permian High School’s Third JROTC Battalion.   Neugebauer was presented with the coins on October 23, 2003 at Permian High School.  The students asked him to deliver the coins to the President.

“When I met with the JROTC in October I was impressed with the hard work and dedication that went into designing these coins.   I am so glad we have a President who is enthusiastic about what West Texas students are doing.  This is an incredibly thoughtful gift,” said Neugebauer.

Permian High School is the first JROTC School in the world to create their own coin.  The coin was designed in the spirit of the pilots who wore their squadron’s gold coins around their necks in World War I.

Neugebauer also spent some time Monday speaking with President Bush about legislative concerns in West Texas.
