Chena Marina Float Pond and Runway

Air Traffic Procedures

1. Traffic at Chena Marina will use the same landing and departure directions as FAI (ATIS), unless the pilot in command deems otherwise, i.e.; due to conflicting wind and/or climatic conditions.

2. All traffic at Chena Marina will use 118.3 (FAI Tower) as the only frequency for entry and departure from Chena Marina.

3. Aircraft on the runway or float pond channel will announce their intention to the FAI Tower on 118.3, at which time Tower will advise of any known traffic.

4. Pattern work and repeated touch and go traffic is discouraged at Chena Marina. Radio transmissions of pattern positions are strongly discouraged unless requested by the FAI Tower.

5. Chena Marina traffic will observe a ceiling of 1200 MSL while in the traffic pattern. Traffic patterns will be to the west of the runway and float pond with Chena Ridge being the western boundary.

6. TRANSPONDER EQUIPPED AIRCRAFT: In the interest of safety, please utilize FAI Radar Services whenever departing or arriving Chena Marina. Prior to entering an active runway or float pond, contact FAI Clearance Delivery on 127.6 to obtain squawk codes. Inbound traffic to Chena Marina should contact FAI Approach Control on 125.35 within 20 NM of the airport.

It is the intention of all parties that and abridged intent of the above procedures be incorporated into the Alaska Supplement.
