IMAGE Software Suite Installation I. Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000 Instructions The IMAGE Software Suite for Windows platforms and its prerequisite software have been packaged into an installation package which should autorun when the CD is inserted. If it does not autorun, double-click the setup.exe icon in the \Windows directory of the cdrom to run setup. II. Unix Instructions A. Install prerequisite software (if not already installed) 1. gzip Copy the /unix/gzip-1.2.4.tar file from the cdrom to a temporary location, untar it (tar xvf gzip-1.2.4.tar) then follow the instructions in the INSTALL file. 2. gcc Copy the /unix/gcc-2.95.2.tar.gz file from the cdrom to a temporary location, unzip it (gunzip gcc-2.95.2.tar.gz), untar it (tar xvf gcc-2.95.2.tar) then follow the instructions in the README file. 3. tcl/tk Copy the the /unix/tcl8.3.2.tar.gz and /unix/tk8.3.2.tar.gz files from the cdrom to a temporary location, unzip them (gunzip tcl8.3.2.tar.gz, gunzip tk8.3.2.tar.gz),untar them (tar xvf tcl8.3.2.tar, tar xvf tk8.3.2.tar) then follow the instructions in the README files. B. Install UDF software UDF software installation instructions can be found in the UDF Documentation Library (/MiniWeb/Index.html) on the cdrom. Follow the instructions for a full install using the /unix/udf/ADMIN.1.2R9.tar.gz and /unix/udf/FULLINSTALL_EX.tar files on the cdrom. C. Install RPI BinBrowser software RPI software installation instructions can be found in the /unix/rpi/Install.htm file on the cdrom. This is a Java application which requires a platform specific Java VM (virtual machine). Follow the instructions in the Install.htm file to find a Java VM for your machine if you do not already have one. 1. Solaris/SPARC Versions of Binbrowser with and without the Java VM may be found on the cdrom in the /unix/rpi/SolarisSPARC/WithJavaVM and /unix/rpi/NoJavaVM directories. 2. Other Unix A version of Binbrowser without the Java VM may be found on the cdrom in the /unix/rpi/NoJavaVM directory. III. Macintosh Instructions Please refer to the readme.mac file in the Macintosh directory of this installation.
