The FEDERAL PRESERVATION INSTITUTE (FPI) provides historic preservation news and information, with particular emphasis on information and training opportunities for Federal agency preservation officers, their staff, and contractors.

FPI sponsors the Federal Training Working Group (FTWG), a monthly forum for Federal Preservation Officers and other historic preservation professionals. Held in Washington, DC, FTWG meetings provide the latest information on best practices and changes in historic preservation laws, regulations, and guidance.

In a joint venture with 20 other federal partners, the Federal Preservation Institute sponsors the Historic Preservation Learning Portal: a powerful web-based tool for preservation professionals.  The Portal recently earned a 2007 Computerworld Laureate Medal!
