Fishes collection hosted in National Research Institute and Fishery Development
(INIDEP) under curatorial of Ichthyologic group of the Marine Science
Department of Mar del Plata University. The specimens belong to South Atlantic
and Southern Ocean next to South Georgia, Sandwich and Shetland Islands.
Samples were collected during fishery research cruises of Argentina (BI Cruz
del Sur Capit真真真真真真n Oca Balda, Eduardo L. Holmberg Capit真真真真真真n C真真真真真真nepa) of Japan (BIP
Orient Maru, BI Kayo Maru and Shinkai Maru) and ships with Russian (BI Evrika)
and German flags (BI Walther Herwig). There are also samples obtained on board
commercial fishing vessels and coastal fleet operating in Mar del Plata wharf.
The samples have been fixed in formaldehyde 10% and preserved in alcohol 70%.
Previously, bony fishes were measured (total and standard length), in the
cartilaginous the total length and the sex were determined. The nomenclature
was actualized following Nelson (2006).

La colecci真真真真真真n ictiol真真真真真真gica se encuentra depositada en el Instituto Nacional de
Investigaci真真真真真真n y Desarrollo Pesquero (INIDEP) y est真真真真真真 a cargo del Grupo
Ictiolog真真真真真真a del Departamento de Ciencias Marinas, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y
Naturales, Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata. Est真真真真真真 conformada por
espec真真真真真真menes procedentes principalmente del sector del Atl真真真真真真ntico Sur y otros
provenientes del Oc真真真真真真ano Austral, en proximidades de las Islas Georgias,
Sandwich y Shetland del Sur. Las muestras fueron obtenidas en su gran mayor真真真真真真a
en campa真真真真真真as de investigaci真真真真真真n llevadas a cabo por buques de investigaci真真真真真真n de
bandera argentina (BI Cruz del Sur Capit真真真真真真n Oca Balda, Eduardo L. Holmberg
Capit真真真真真真n C真真真真真真nepa) japonesa (BIP Orient Maru, BI Kayo Maru y Shinkai Maru),
sovi真真真真真真tica (BI Evrika) y alemana (BI Walther Herwig). Hay adem真真真真真真s muestras
obtenidas a bordo de buques pesqueros comerciales, de bandera argentina y
japonesa, y embarcaciones de la flota costera con base en el puerto de Mar del
Plata. Los ejemplares han sido fijados primeramente en formol al 10 % y
preservados en alcohol al 70 %. Previamente en los peces 真真真真真真seos fue medida la
talla (longitud total y estandar), en los cartilaginosos se obtuvo la longitud
total y se determin真真真真真真 el sexo. La nomenclatura empleada fue actualizada
siguiendo a Nelson (2006).
