Taking Action: Where do we go from here?

Kathie Lee Gifford:
I need to have an independent monitoring system from Wal-Mart so
that there is no, even appearance, of impropriety.  I'm willing
to pay for that.  I've been tempted to rush into a decision so
that when someone asks me "Is your organization in place," I can
say "Oh yeah, oh yeah."  I know that we have been a national
model, unfortunately, for what's wrong in the system.  I know
that what I would love to see happen is to become a national
model for what is right, and the right way to do it, and that is
going to take time.  It is taking more time than we thought
because I had no idea that the problems were as pervasive.
