Updated 25-Aug-2006 kag In order to clarify the differences in the versions of the transition and paddle boards, I've put together the following list, which should help solve any compatibility questions/problems. Paddle Boards: - BC-003 Rev.1: This board will work with the VME58-8 only. - BC-003 Rev.2: Works with the VME58-8, VME58-8S, & MAXv(*) - BC-003 Rev.3: This board was designed to work with the VME58-8 AND the VME58-4E. - 96PC059: This board was designed by the ASD Controls group. It will work only with the VME8 board. (*)Note: The MAXv will work with Rev.3, which is by far the most common paddle board in use at APS. It will control all 8 channels of steppers, but only channels 1-4 of the encoders will work. If encoder channels 5-8 are to be used, the Rev.2 paddle board will be needed. Transition Boards: - BC-005 Rev.0: Will work with any of the above paddle boards and their associated controller board. - BC-005 Rev.1: Also compatible with all of the paddle boards. The main Difference between versions is the addition of the E- Stop input on rev.1. - BC-005 Rev.2: New layout, same circuit/functionality. - BC-005 Rev.3: Simplified layout, less parts, same functionality. Replaced toggle switch with jumpers. - BC-037 Rev.0: New transition board, greatly simplified circuit, no encoder support. Works w/Paddle board vers.2 or 3.
