Interesting Fact:
An atlas by Johann Baptist Homann (1663-1724) titled Grosser atlas uber die gantze Welt wie diese sowel (Nuremberg, 1731) established his Nuremberg publishing house in 1702 and was he appointed Geographer to the Holy Roman Empire in 1715. He and his heirs published several composite atlases that contained plans of towns and cities. |
