IMPORT BEEF TRADE

Compared to Last Week:  Import boneless beef prices are firm to higher
on moderate trading.  A higher domestic lean boneless beef and sharply
lower beef trimmings caused grinders to look for more imported frozen
product. However, offerings from overseas continued to be limited at
higher asking prices causing out-front trading to be slow.  Furthermore,
prices on Uruguay products are moving at the same levels as Australia
and New Zealand products because some traders are having to cover
shorts.  Peeled Knuckels at 159.50; Cap-off insides 193.00.
