Lodging-Bartlett Cove

This page includes information regarding the concession authorization for accommodations, food service and related services based in Bartlett Cove (near Gustavus). Glacier Bay Lodge provides accommodations within the park, at Bartlett Cove. The Concessionaire also provides a daily tour into the West Arm of Glacier Bay during the summer operating season.

 
This a fifty-six room lodge is operated under Concession Contract number GLBA001-04.pdf. A new concessioner, Glacier Bay Lodge & Tours, was selected on January 16, 2004 to operate this concession. In addition to operation of the lodge, the contract requires the following services: operation of day tour vessel services, camper drop-off services, food service, fuel sales, and bus transportation.

Glacier Bay Lodge operating dates for the restaurant, front desk, gift shop, fuel dock, day tour vessel and camper drop-off service are approved by the National Park Service annually and are posted here as well as the approved rates for lodging, bus transportation, camper drop-off and day tour vessel services.

Concessioner rates are approved by the National Park Service. Rates are based primarily on comparability with similar services outside the park. The Concessioner may charge less than the approved rates in accordance with the terms of the contract.

The Fairweather Dinner Menu
Appetizers
Wild Alaskan Salmon Cake  $8.75
Freshly caught wild Alaskan salmon cake sautéed to golden brown and served atop a seaweed-cucumber salad and laced with sweet chili sauce.

Buffalo Shrimp  $9.25
Eight lightly breaded crisp shrimp tossed with buffalo sauce and accompanied with crisp celery and carrot straws and blue cheese or ranch dressing.

Soups

Daily bowl of soup made with the freshest ingredients available.

Glacier Bay Chowder  $8.25
Bowl of locally smoked Alaskan halibut and salmon simmered slowly in a creamy seafood fumet with grilled corn kernels and potatoes.

Baby field greens and crisp iceberg lettuce tossed with Gorgonzola cheese, craisins, dried apricots, candied walnuts and house made balsamic vinaigrette.

Fresh out of the Bay boiled in spicy broth; served whole withdrawn butter and fresh sautéed vegetables.
