This is a 100kb test
document
. If you can not view it, you need to install a viewer:
application/postscript; ghostview -safer %s
where ghostview is one of many PostScript front ends. Note that ghostview requires ghostscript.
You may quickly get a copy of ghostscript-5.01.tar.gz, ghostscript-5.01jpeg.tar.gz, ghostscript-5.01libpng.tar.gz, ghostscript-5.01zlib.tar.gz, ghostscript-fonts-std-5.01.tar.gz, ghostview-1.5.tar.gz. Note that these copies may not be as recent as the previous reference however.
The '-safer' option is added [thank's to Ben Liblit's tip] to prevent PostScript primitives from manipulating user's files.
There are several Windows based PostScript viewers available.
To set up the PostScript viewer, enter the following into the HelperApplication or
ExternalViewer dialog box in your Web Browser:
MIME type / subtype | application/postscript |
---|---|
extensions | ps,eps,ai |
application | GSview |
where GSview is an external PostScript viewer based on Ghostscript and is available for Windows and OS/2.
Note that you may need to supply the complete path to the application. Also, some browsers need a '.' preceeding the extensions entries.
You may quickly get a copy of gs501ini.zip and gs501fn1.zip (for GUIs only) and one of gs501w32.zip (Win32s, Win95, WinNT) or gs501dos.zip (MS-DOS) or gs501os2.zip (OS/2). Also, the graphical front end, gsview22.zip (GSview for Win16, Win32, and OS/2), is available.
Note that these copies may not be as recent as the previous references however.
Thanks go to Russell Lang for his efforts in developing GSview.
