Nomination Information

QUARTERMASTER CORPS REGIMENTAL HONORS PROGRAM

BACKGROUND: Effective 13 June 1986, the US Army Quartermaster Regiment (Corps) was established with Fort Lee as its home base. The Quartermaster General serves as the Regimental Commander and the QM Center and School Command Sergeant Major is the Regimental Sergeant Major. The Regimental SOP describes the role of other regimental officers, and outlines procedures for appointment of an Honorary Colonel, an Honorary Sergeant Major, and an Honorary Warrant Officer of the Regiment. In addition, three separate Regimental Honors Programs were created to recognize truly outstanding individuals and units (both past and present) who have helped fulfill the Corps’ mission in very special ways, or who have brought known credit to the Regiment over the course of its long and proud history:

QUARTERMASTER HALL OF FAME PROGRAM

Created in 1986, the QMC Hall of Fame (HOF) award is the highest form of recognition the Regiment offers. This much coveted award honors those who are judged to have made "the most significant contributions to the overall history and traditions of the Quartermaster Corps." A Selection Board appointed by the Regimental Commander reviews all nominations for this high honor.

Eligibility: All retired military (former active duty and reserve components) and civilians who have made significant contributions to the QMC are eligible for inclusion in the Hall of Fame.

Nominating Procedures: Anyone can submit nominations for the QMC Hall of Fame. However, for a nominating packet to be complete, it must include (1) Formal Letter of Nomination, (2) A Narrative Description of the Candidate’s Significant Contributions to the QMC, (3) Biographical Data or Career Resume, and (4) Official Photograph of the Nominee. Supplemental information may be included, such as letters of support from individuals who know of the nominee’s accomplishments, or citations received for those accomplishments.

DISTINGUISHED MEMBER OF THE REGIMENT PROGRAM

In 1991, the Distinguished Member of the Regiment (DMOR) award was introduced to honor selected individuals who have made "distinguished contributions to the Quartermaster Corps," and who, by virtue of prestige, status and experience, "will assist in fostering Regimental pride and esprit, heritage and tradition."

Eligibility: Anyone – military or civilian, active or retired, living or deceased -- who is thought to have contributed substantially to the Quartermaster Corps is eligible to become a Distinguished Member of the Regiment.

Nominating Procedures: Anyone can submit nominations for the DMOR award. For a nominating packet to be complete it must include (1) A Formal Letter of Nomination, (2) Narrative Description of the Candidate’s Significant Contributions to the QMC, and (3) Biographical Data or Career Resume. DISTINGUISHED UNIT OF THE REGIMENT

The Distinguished Unit of the Regiment (DUOR) award was introduced in 1993 to recognize truly outstanding units, past and present, who have made a significant contribution to the Quartermaster Corps.

Eligibility: Any Quartermaster unit – Active Duty, Reserve Component, or National Guard; whether on the currently Activated or Inactive roles – is eligible to be nominated for this award.
