2008 NASCIO Recognition Awards


Each year, the National Association of State Chief Information Offices (NASCIO) honors outstanding information technology achievements in the public sector through its Recognition Awards for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Information Technology. Recipients of the award are selected based on several criteria, including best practices, support of public policy, ability to assist government officials to execute duties innovatively, and by providing cost-effective service to citizens.

The 10 project categories for 2008 are as follows: Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, Cross-Boundary Collaborations and Partnerships, Data, Information and Knowledge Management, Digital Government: Government to Business, Digital Government: Government to Citizen, Digital Government: Government to Government, Enterprise IT Management Initiatives, Information Communications Technology (ICT) Innovations, and Information Security and Privacy, and IT Project and Portfolio Management.
