Survey,  National  Earthquake  Information Center:  An earthquake
occurred about 90 km (55  miles)  S  of  Raoul  Island,  Kermadec
Islands  at  7:11  AM  MST today, Jan 18, 2009 (Jan 19 at 2:11 AM
local time in New Zealand).  A PRELIMINARY MAGNITUDE OF  6.7  WAS
COMPUTED  FOR THIS EARTHQUAKE.  The magnitude and location may be
revised when additional data and  further  analysis  results  are
available.   This  earthquake  is located in a remote area and no

time 14 11 46.6 utc, depth shallow, magnitude 6.7.  The magnitude
