Haven't used histograms with SGT , have used JAS  or plotml for  
histograms.

JAS - java analysis studio
http://jas.freehep.org/      site seems to be down at the moment (or  
I can't access it)

PlotML from ptplot package
http://ptolemy.eecs.berkeley.edu/  Ptolemy

plot/plotml/package-summary.html

Use the ptolemy packages  , have histograms as part of plotml.
Still all in java and xml.
