Matthew Kohut

Editor

Matthew Kohut has over fifteen years of experience writing about scientific, technical and quantitative information in a public policy context for both general and expert audiences.

Prior to January 2006, he was Director of Research and Publications for the Council for Excellence in Government. He served as rapporteur for several Council reports, including We the People: Homeland Security from the Citizens’ Perspective and The Shape of Our Representative Democracy, and conducted original research for the Environmental Protection Agency on the role of collaboration in regulation. He also wrote speeches, op-ed articles, business development and marketing materials for the Council’s CEO and other senior executives.

Matt holds a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and a B.A. from the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University.

In addition to his career as a writer and analyst, he worked from 1995-2002 as a professional bassist, touring the United States and Europe with numerous pop music acts.

Dennis Bonilla

Designer

Dennis Bonilla serves as the lead graphic designer for ASK the Academy. In this capacity, Mr. Bonilla creates and manages art assets used for the bi-weekly newsletter.

Mr. Bonilla studied journalism at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, but left to pursue a career in graphic design. He designed the Strategic Management And Governance Handbook NPD 1000.00 for NASA and has been heavily involved with the marketing and branding of several NASA centers.

Mr. Bonilla has over eight years of experience in graphic arts and web development and has served as lead designer and coder for more than 100 corporate websites. Mr. Bonilla has also designed interfaces for software currently used at Kennedy Space Center.

In his free time, Mr. Bonilla enjoys traveling abroad, road trips, reading fiction, and discussing contemporary design. Dennis thanks Alexander Coe, Chuck Palahniuk, and David Fincher for their continual inspiration.

Matt Scott

Web Design

Matt Scott leads the designing, creating, and maintaining of the online version of the ASK the Academy newsletter. Mr. Scott has a degree in IT networking and has been a part of the APPEL/ASK the Academy(formerly ASK OCE) webteam for over 2 years now.

He is overly fond of robots and spends his off hours enjoying computer gaming, specifically playing First Person Shooters and of course World of Warcraft.
