Point coverages were generated in PC Arc/Info from a subset of each state's DBF files. The point coverages and DBF files were then exported to a SUN/Arc/Info platform and re-joined to produce attributed coverages. Data subsets common to all the coverages were reselected and the resulting smaller (and identically formatted) coverages were appended to create a single geothermal coverage encompassing the states of California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. This large coverage was clipped to produce the smaller GEOTEMPNW coverage for just the area within the Pacific Northwest north of 39 degrees N latitude and west of 107.5 degrees W longitude.
