  • Potamogeton geniculatus - Common name: pondweed. An aquatic pondweed grew in shallow areas of the ancient Lake Florissant, where it may have provided food for birds and fish, as well as a habitant for snails and insects. Potamogeton berchtoldii grows in ponds and creeks in the Florissant area.
