But to make informed choices, Americans need relevant information. Presently, beverages with alcohol are the only major consumable product that do not adequately inform consumers of how they fit into the American diet. In fact, alcohol makers are not allowed to list important serving and nutritional information on their products. Why are Americans allowed to know more about the content of cookie than they are about the content of a bottle of beer or wine? Americans do not have to be protected from such information. Knowledge is power - and allowing beer, wine and other mixed drinks to display serving and other content information on their packaging may help adults make even better decisions about alcohol. Please allow alcohol companies to list basic facts on their labels, and stop preventing American consumers from seeing exactly what it is they are drinking.
